We are so excited to start our Art Show Project! We are studying Pablo Picasso's guitar paintings! Today was the first step of painting the paper using different tools!

We have had so much Valentine's Day fun!
Thank you to everyone that sent in goodies, and cards! We did a candy heart experiment with different liquids to see which would dissolve the candies first, we made friendship bracelets, and wrote Valentines in the post office dramatic play center! We also had fun passing out all of our Valentines to our friends! Here we are at the start of another new month!
We have begun our construction unit, and we have loved being so hands on and building things with all different types of materials! We will celebrate Valentines on February 15th, and our 100th day on February 16th. Then we being February break the 19th-23rd! We are finally starting to get back into the swing of things after being off!
Our new theme is Animals Everywhere! There will be NO school Monday January 15th, and NO school Friday January 26th Conferences will be held on Friday the 26th, if you do not have a time that was given to you by me please contact me so we can set a time up! Next week is our last week of school before Christmas break!
We are working hard on our parent gifts, and talking all about Christmas! We are reviewing past letters we have learned next week! Our pageant is Friday December 22nd at 11:30 in the school gym! The children are to come to school in the pjs, because this is also the wear for our pageant! They are able to be dismissed after the performance! Friday morning we will be watching a Christmas movie, and enjoying a snack before our performance! Thank you for all your help in making this holiday season so special for our little ones!! our christmas pageant will be on friday december 22nd at 11:30 am in our school gym! PLease send your child to school in their pjs on this day! The kids will be dismissed after our performance!When we return to school after thanksgiving break, we will continue on with our Four seasons/weather unit! Our letter will be W.
Our conferences that were schedules for November 30th and December 1st have been post poned until January when our reports cards come out! I have sent home their assessment, so if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to reach out!
I will also be available on Friday December 1st if you wish to meet with me! Picture Re-take day is this Thursday November 16th! Please send in the pictures you do not wish to keep! Reminder: We have NO school on Wednesday November 22nd-Friday November 24th! This week we started our five senses unit! What a better way to kick it off by using our senses to carve a pumpkin! We talked about how it felt, smelt, looked, and sounded like! We then decided what kind of face we wanted to carve in it after the kids cleaned out the whole pumpkin!
Our Halloween fun is on Tuesday! Your child can wear their costume to school but please bring a change of clothes! They are also allowed to bring candy to pass out to their friends! Our field trip that was supposed to be in Nov had to be changed, due to their busy schedule we are not able to go until March now! Our letter next week is Ll, and we will continue our five senses until! This week is Red Ribbon week in our school!
Tuesday is wear Red day! Wednesday is wear Blue to honor Officer Lehner! Thursday is dress like your superhero! Friday is NDA day! We are also working on changing our dramatic play center to a bakery! We are looking for any old baking tools, empty baking containers, aprons, etc that we could add to our center to make it that much better!! Thank you!! Today we had a visit from Officer Thompson and K-9 dog Billy!
We got to hear all about his job, hear the siren, and watch the lights go! This all ties into our Community Helper unit! Thank you Office Thompson! Last week we has so much fun exploring the different shapes and colors! We talked about 2D and 3D shapes, and found them around our classroom!
We painted with shapes, built them with popsicle sticks, and did a bunch of color crafts! We watched what colors came when we mixed two together! Our letter for the next two weeks is Ff. Remind that PICTURE DAY is Thursday October 5th! This week we are talking about school and all about colors!
Our letter of the week is Cc. Since we are talking about colors, we are asking that your child bring in an item of each color that can be glued onto poster (the item won't come back to you)! We are going to work on making a big color collage! Thank you for your help! This week we explored all about apples!
We talked about the colors, the parts of an apple, and different thing we can make with apples! We even made an apple volcano this week! It was super cool to see their reactions!! We painted with apples, did apple patterns, and cut out our own apples! We also played a fun Johnny appleseed game! Next week we will talk about colors, and our letter will be Cc. This week we a lot going on!
We will continue with our Back to School theme, and this week we will learn all about apples! We will be making apple sauce, trying apples, and doing fun apple experiments! Tuesday night is Meet the Teacher night at school! This is only for parents and goes from 6:30-8! Can't wait to see everyone there! There is also a Book Fair going on all week! If you chose to send your child in with money, we will help them pick out what they want! Our schedule changes weekly as we follow a letter day schedule.
A day-Computers B day-Gym C day-Recess D day-Music E day-Art F day-Gym We will also have gym every Wednesday morning! Right now on 9/12 it is a E day so tomorrow will be F and so on! We had a great first week back to school!
The children are adjusting to Pre-K, and are already falling into a routine! Last week did started to introduce the centers in our classroom, talked about red and green choices, did some art projects, and got to know one another! If you have any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to contact me! Heres to a great second week! Our field trip to Kelkenburg Farm will be on Tuesday May 31st. Permission slips will go home today!
We are looking for three parents to join us so you can Emil me if you are interested. If you have joined us for an activity before you can email still but, I am going to open it up to the ones who have not had an opportunity yet, and then fill in where needed! Our butterflies have finally started to come out of their cacoons this morning and we couldn't be more excited about It! We have begun our new theme, Growing and Changing, this week!
We talked all about how we have grown and changed from a baby, until now, and when we get older as well! We have some new friends in our classroom! We have 5 caterpillars that we are observing each day watching them grow and change into butterflies! We have also planted lima beans in a baggy with cotton balls so we can watch our seeds grow and change as well! All this week, we have been working on our art board to be displayed in City Hall! More to come on that! We also have been talking all about famous artists and their different techniques they used! The children really enjoyed learning about different types of art! Who knew there were so many different kinds! |
